We do a lot of things in life that might actually be done incorrectly or inefficiently. We’ve always done them that way, so why would we consider doing them any differently? Well, here are some of the things you’ve probably been doing wrong all this time, and how to do them better…

Who knew we’d all been using straws wrong when drinking from a can? Instead of opening the can and placing the straw in the hole, twist the ring pull over the gap, and slot the straw through this. Guaranteed to revolutionize your drinking future, and keep your straw in place to boot!

Many of us have enjoyed bananas before, but we’ve actually likely been opening them incorrectly all this time. Instead of the traditional peeling method of peeling from the stem, you’re actually supposed to turn the banana upside down and peel from the bottom

Opening your aluminum foil can be a pain in the proverbial, particularly when it moves around and you can peel sheets of it off straight. Well, this hack will blow your mind… at each end of the cardboard tube that houses the foil is a cardboard tab that can be pushed in to keep the foil roll in place.

We were always told that the correct hand placement on a steering wheel is 10 and 2 (on a clock face), but it appears this advice may have been premature. In fact, recent advice actually suggests that your hands should be at 3 and 9 in order to maintain the most control over the wheel.

Eating a burger without everything falling out is one of the greatest feats a person can accomplish. Unfortunately, it’s often futile. Well, fear not, because new advice suggests the optimal way to hold your burger and eat it without everything falling out is to use your three index fingers on the top bun, and your pinky and thumb on the bottom, holding everything in place.

There are few things that are more refreshing on a hot summer’s day than an ice cold bottle of beer. But, you may not be aware that beers are actually supposed to be held by the neck, not the body, in order to prevent the heat from your hands warming up the beer.

Prepare to have your mind blown, you’ve been sealing your cereal boxes all wrong. Instead of trying to seal the box using the tab, you should fold the side and back flaps down inside the box, press the sides of the box in, and tuck the front flap down inside – see the picture for results.

Sit ups are often seen as the optimal way of being able to develop strong abs and be well on your way to a six pack, but this is actually not the case. There are other exercises that can yield far better results for this, such as planks, deadbugs, and crunches, all of which can produce far better outcomes.

Using a wooden chopping board

Wooden chopping boards feel nice, and look lovely, but they can actually be a nightmare. They can’t go in the dishwasher, and they are very difficult to effectively disinfect, meaning that they can harbor diseases more easily. Instead, make sure you switch to a plastic chopping board, which is simpler to keep clean and hygienic.

Brushing your teeth

Brushing your teeth is an absolute must, but too many people don’t follow correct tooth brushing etiquette. For one thing, you need to make sure you never brush directly after eating, and you should also ensure that you spit but never rinse when you are finished.
